Featuring a throwback Spice Girls photo from a 1995 trip to Hawaii, heartfelt tributes from Emma Bunton, and a personal message from Victoria herself, discover how the fashion designer celebrates this milestone with gratitude and a forward-looking vision.

As Victoria Beckham celebrated her 50th birthday on Wednesday, an iconic throwback photo from the noughties surfaced featuring the Spice Girls during a trip to Hawaii in 1995. In the bikini-clad photo, a youthful Victoria poses with her bandmates Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell (now Horner), and Melanie Brown. This picture was taken a year before their breakout hit “Wannabe” catapulted them to fame, during a holiday at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui following their signing with Virgin Records.

The Spice Girls, who debuted in 1996, quickly rose to become the best-selling girl group of all time with nine number one singles.

Their fame peaked with “Wannabe,” which dominated the pop charts for seven weeks. However, the group disbanded in 2000, two years after Geri left due to differences and exhaustion.

On Victoria’s birthday, Emma Bunton led the tributes with a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating their 30-year friendship, featuring a video montage set to their hit “Say You’ll Be There.” Emma wrote, “Happy birthday @victoriabeckham! 50 and bossing it! Your beautiful family are a credit to you and I’m sure you’ll be spoilt rotten. We love you to bits.”

Victoria marked the occasion with a reflective Instagram post on the eve of her birthday. Dressed in a bra and suit from her own fashion line, she expressed gratitude towards her husband David and their four children for their “unconditional love and support.” Victoria shared her journey from pop star to fashion designer, emphasizing her mission to empower women and remain true to her creative vision.

She also expressed pride in her career trajectory and her role as a mother, stating, “I believe that you can be many things. A pop star, a mother, a wife, a designer… My passion has always been to dream big, then dream even bigger! Believe in yourself first — everyone else will follow.”

Ending her message, Victoria looked forward to the future, affirming, “So, here’s to doing more of what I love with the people I love. I’m so thankful for my family, my friends, and my incredible team! This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and I’m only just getting started.”

Victoria also paid a special tribute to her parents, adding, “Mummy and daddy, I love you. Kisses Victoria xx.”
