Backup Singer Sues Chrisean Rock, Alleging Assault and Use of Slur
Chrisean Rock Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Assault and Use of Slur
Chrisean Rock is embroiled in a legal dispute as she finds herself at the center of a lawsuit for an alleged assault, reportedly occurring during a Tamar Braxton performance.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, TV personality James Wright is suing Chrisean, alleging she assaulted him at a club show in November, resulting in multiple facial lacerations and two broken teeth.

James Wright was purportedly hospitalized after Tamar’s show in Downtown Los Angeles around the same time. Tamar discussed the alleged incident during an Instagram Live, stating that Chrisean became upset when she realized she wouldn’t have a larger role in the performance, contrary to her expectations.
While video footage shows Chrisean breaking up a pre-show prayer circle, eyewitnesses on the tour claim this was unrelated to the alleged assault.
In the lawsuit, James, who served as a backup singer for Tamar Braxton, asserts that he informed Rock she was only scheduled to join the stage for the final twerk segment of the night. He alleges that when he directed her to the correct area, she struck him.
Wright contends that Rock hit him multiple times with a hand adorned with “large champion style rings,” causing the injuries. He further claims she directed a homophobic slur towards him following the alleged assault.
Wright states he was subsequently hospitalized and required consultations with both a dentist and a plastic surgeon.
Now, James is pursuing legal action against Chrisean for assault, battery, and emotional distress. He seeks compensation for medical expenses and other damages resulting from the incident.
