Colin Jost Mocks Scarlett Johansson‘s ‘Black Widow’ with Joke Penned by Michael Che
Colin Jost and Michael Che continued their Saturday Night Live tradition of writing jokes for each other in their latest appearance. This time, Che upped the challenge for Jost by introducing “someone very special who last appeared on this show during Season 3, 46 years ago.”
“Poet, author, activist… Please welcome Dr. Hattie Davis, ladies and gentlemen,” Che said.
Jost knew he was going to have a more difficult time reading the jokes Che wrote for him in front of Davis, but nonetheless, he was a trooper along the way.
Colin Jost shared a quip during Saturday Night Live, stating, “New York state now permits movie theaters to serve alcohol, allowing me to appreciate my wife’s indie films.” A picture of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow accompanied the remark.
However, the cringe factor escalated when Jost continued, jesting, “I’m kidding, honey. I adore all your films. And in my opinion, you make an even more captivating black widow than Coretta Scott King.”
This final punchline prompted a disapproving reaction from the audience, notably from Davis.
Jost also had Michael Che deliver some controversial lines, including a joke involving Beyoncé.
“Last month, Beyoncé shared a photo on Instagram donning a chrome Versace dress and platinum blonde hair that some online critics deemed ‘too white,'” Che read, before adding the zinger, “In fact, Beyoncé looked so white that, finally, I found her attractive.”
