A staffer from the U.S. Senate, identified as 24-year-old Aidan Maese-Czeropski, has lost his job after a sex tape filmed in a prominent location on Capitol Hill surfaced, triggering a police investigation.
The explicit footage, initially released by The Daily Caller and widely circulated online, features Maese-Czeropski engaging in sexual activity with another man in a judiciary hearing room within the Hart Senate Office Building. The room is recognized for its role in confirmations and grillings, including those for Supreme Court nominees.
The camera, held by the participating individual, captures various angles of the act, including shots of the empty room where Senators typically conduct proceedings. The incident raises concerns as the video suggests the activity took place in an area where Senators themselves often sit, overlooking the table used for witness and nominee hearings.
Upon linking the staffer to Democratic Maryland Senator Ben Cardin, a spokesperson from Cardin’s office confirmed Maese-Czeropski’s termination, stating, “Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate. We will have no further comment on this personnel matter.”
In response to the controversy, Aidan Maese-Czeropski, whose social media presence has been erased, purportedly addressed the situation through a now-deleted LinkedIn message. He asserted that he has faced attacks for his personal life and expressed regret for past judgment lapses. He emphasized his dedication to the job and denied any intention to disrespect the workplace, calling attempts to characterize his actions differently “fabricated.”
The Capitol Police have initiated an investigation to determine if any laws were violated in connection to this incident. Aidan had been employed by Senator Cardin since 2021 and had previously served as an intern for Dianne Feinstein.
