Spotify Hikes Premium Prices Again: What Subscribers Need to Know About the New Costs
A year after Spotify first increased the price of Spotify Premium in the US, another price hike is coming. Starting next month, US subscribers will receive emails detailing the new prices for Premium, Duo, and Family plans. The cost of Spotify Premium will rise to $11.99 per month, up from last year’s increase to $10.99.
For Spotify Duo subscribers, the monthly fee will increase by $2, from $14.99 to $16.99. The Family plan will also see a rise, moving from $16.99 to $19.99 per month. This means that the price of a Spotify Duo subscription has increased by 30 percent in a year, and Spotify Family by 25 percent, while Spotify Premium has gone up by 20 percent.

“So that we can continue to invest in and innovate on our product features and bring users the best experience, we occasionally update our prices,” says Spotify in a blog post announcing the price changes. “Over the next month, subscribers in the US will receive an email explaining what this update means for their subscription.”
Last month, Spotify also announced price hikes for international subscribers, indicating that these increases are not limited to the US. Bloomberg reported that Spotify still plans to launch its “Supremium” plan, featuring lossless streaming and other enhancements. Some users have even spotted a Dolby Atmos logo on the app’s Now Playing screen recently, hinting that this might be part of the Supremium feature set.
