Reese Witherspoon announced divorce from husband Jim Toth

After more than a decade of marriage, Hollywood actress and producer Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth have announced that they are getting a divorce. Witherspoon shared the news on her verified Instagram account in a joint statement from her and Toth.

The statement began, “We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce.” It continued, “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and we are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

The couple’s priority is their son, Tennessee James, who is ten years old, and their entire family, as they navigate through this challenging time. Witherspoon is also a mother to two children, Ava, 23, and Deacon, 19, whom she shares with her ex-husband, fellow actor Ryan Phillippe. The couple divorced in 2008.

The statement further added, “These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.” The couple asked for privacy and respect during this difficult time, as they adjust to their new lives.

Witherspoon and Toth have been married since March 2011. Toth is a talent agent, and the couple met when he was working at the Creative Artists Agency, which represents Witherspoon. They began dating in early 2010 and announced their engagement in December of the same year.
