Katie Couric Celebrates Becoming a Grandmother Following Daughter’s Childbirth
Katie Couric has excitedly announced her entrance into grandmotherhood!
The esteemed journalist and former anchor of the “Today” show shared the joyous news on Instagram, accompanied by a snapshot of her tenderly holding her daughter Ellie’s newly born son, John Albert Dobrosky.
The baby boy, weighing nearly 7 pounds, arrived on Saturday morning and will be affectionately known as Jay.
This name holds sentimental value, as Jay was also the name of Katie’s late husband and the baby’s grandfather, Jay Monahan, who passed away from colon cancer in 1998.
Katie further delighted her followers with additional Instagram photos capturing Ellie and her husband, Mark, as they embraced their newborn. These moments were made even more special with Katie’s husband, John, in the frame, celebrating the occasion with congratulatory cigars.
The photos also featured Katie’s other daughter, Carrie, getting acquainted with her new nephew.
Expressing her elation, Katie conveyed her excitement about becoming a grandmother, while Ellie and Mark are ecstatic about their new addition to the family.
