United States, Bollywood Fever: Angel Reese recently expressed her delight over a viral comment made by rapper Megan Thee Stallion regarding her basketball skills. During an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, Megan revealed that she likens herself to the WNBA star when shooting hoops at her recording studio.
Reese, a rookie with the Chicago Sky, reposted the clip of Megan’s statement on her social media, writing, “My stallion sister said what she saidddd,” accompanied by a crying emoji and two hearts emoji.
In the podcast episode, Megan discussed her affinity for basketball, sharing, “I got a basketball goal at the studio I record at. It’s, like, a goal in the back. Sometimes I just go back there and I be, like, just messing around. This is so random but I be thinking I’m really Angel Reese when I be back there.” Shannon Sharpe reacted with a smile, and Megan continued, “I’ll be back there and I just play around until I figure out exactly what I want to say.”
Reese is coming off a remarkable performance, scoring 10 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in a recent game against the Minnesota Lynx. Despite the loss, the former LSU star set a WNBA record by achieving her 10th consecutive double-double, surpassing the previous record held by Candace Parker in 2015.
Earlier in the season, Reese broke the record for most consecutive double-doubles by a rookie, with a standout performance of 16 points and 18 rebounds in a win over the Dallas Wings on June 20.
Currently, Reese is averaging an impressive 13.3 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. The Chicago Sky hold a 6-11 record nearly halfway through the regular season.
Reese’s impressive stats and record-breaking achievements highlight her impact on the court, while the playful acknowledgment from Megan Thee Stallion underscores her growing influence beyond basketball.
