Aaron Taylor-Johnson, known for his roles in “Kraven The Hunter,” “Bullet Train,” and “Nocturnal Animals,” is set to collaborate once again with director David Mackenzie in the upcoming heist thriller “Fuze.”

Mackenzie and Taylor-Johnson previously worked together on the 2018 Robert the Bruce drama “Outlaw King,” as well as the heist drama “Hell or High Water.

Written by Ben Hopkins, “Fuze” begins with the discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb at a London construction site, leading to a mass evacuation that serves as the perfect cover for a heist.

Mackenzie commented, “I had the idea of combining all the high stakes of an unexploded bomb with that of a bank robbery – clashing these two genres to create as much pressure as possible in a context that feels as real as possible. Ben Hopkins took those ingredients and cooked up the compelling script that we are now taking into production.”

The film is produced by Gillian Berrie for Sigma Films, as well as Sebastien Raybaud and Callum Grant for Anton.

Giles Nuttgens, joining forces once again with director David Mackenzie after their collaboration on “Hell or High Water,” steps in as the director of photography for their latest project.

“David Mackenzie and DP Giles Nuttgens are dynamos together. Add Aaron Taylor-Johnson to the mix, and we have the Midas touch for this whirlwind movie,” said producer Gillian Berrie.

Financed by Anton, the film’s worldwide rights will be offered at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin, where a sizzle reel will be presented.

Anton’s Raybaud and Grant praised Mackenzie’s ability to blend large-scale filmmaking with unique character portrayals, stating, “FUZE melds the relentless tension of a bomb movie with the heist genre.”

UTA Independent Film Group and WME Independent will jointly represent the US rights alongside Anton.
