Pete Davidson Clears the Air: No Plans to Replace Matt Rife in Warm-Up Gig

Contrary to rumors, Pete Davidson did not “pull out” of Matt Rife’s comedy show at the last minute.

Reports suggesting that Matt was left without an opener during the first night of his three-night stand-up show at Radio City Music Hall in NYC are inaccurate.

Although Pete did not perform, it’s important to note that he was never officially contracted or scheduled to appear as an opener.

According to sources familiar with the situation, Matt extended an invitation to Pete for the show, but Pete, while expressing his desire to support his friend, ultimately couldn’t attend due to prior commitments.

There appears to have been a misunderstanding or miscommunication within Matt’s team regarding Pete’s involvement, which Pete clarified directly with Matt.

Pete’s schedule was already filled with his own stand-up engagements, including a show on Feb. 4, which necessitated travel on Feb. 3, coinciding with Matt’s performances in NYC.

Additionally, Pete is embarking on a film project with Eddie Murphy, further limiting his availability.

In summary, there’s no significant news here; Pete’s absence from Matt’s show was due to scheduling conflicts, and there’s no animosity between the two.

Meanwhile, Matt’s recent performances have garnered attention, particularly with the incident involving the removal of porn star Lisa Ann for alleged disruptive behavior—a dramatic turn of events indeed.
