James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson, and Sarah Shahi Cast Alongside Sterling K. Brown in Dan Fogelman’s Hulu Series

Fresh off his Emmy nomination for “Jury Duty,” James Marsden has been cast as a lead alongside Sterling K. Brown in Dan Fogelman’s upcoming Hulu series. Also joining the project as series regulars are Emmy winner Julianne Nicholson and Sarah Shahi.

While the premise of the drama remains under wraps, details about the characters played by Marsden, Nicholson, and Shahi offer a glimpse into the series’ world. Marsden will portray the President, Nicholson’s character is an influential political force behind the scenes, and Shahi plays a therapist with her own secrets catering to those in power.

Produced by 20th Television, the series is executive produced by Fogelman, Brown, Jess Rosenthal, John Hoberg, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, and Steve Beers.

Marsden, known for his role in “Jury Duty” and recent appearances in “Knox Goes Away,” the Sonic movie franchise, and Starz’s Party Down revival, is represented by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Nicholson, an Emmy winner for “Mare of Easttown,” was last seen in “Dream Scenario” alongside Nicolas Cage and has upcoming projects like “Janet Planet” and “The Amateur.” She is set to executive produce and star in the limited series “Separation Anxiety.” Nicholson is represented by UTA, Untitled Entertainment, and B-Side Management.

Shahi, known for her roles in “Sex/Life” on Netflix and the Prime Video film “Red, White & Royal Blue,” is represented by Independent Artists Group, Untitled Entertainment, and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis.
