Air India Express Cancels Flights as Cabin Crew Goes on 'Mass Sick Leave' Over Employment Terms

On May 18, 2024, an Air India Express flight traveling from Bengaluru to Kochi made an emergency landing at BLR Airport at 23:12 hrs following a reported fire in one of its engines.

A full-scale emergency was declared, and the fire was swiftly extinguished upon landing. All 179 passengers and 6 crew members were successfully evacuated from the aircraft, according to a spokesperson from Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL).
