Bella Hadid goes almost Naked with complete See-Through Dress
While Bella Hadid may be taking a step back from her modeling duties, she ensured that this year’s Cannes Film Festival wouldn’t pass without a major fashion moment. Known for her memorable appearances, such as wearing a set of gold lungs in 2021, Hadid proved she remains a dominant force at the event.
Today, at the premiere of “The Apprentice,” Hadid donned a completely sheer dress from Anthony Vaccarello’s Fall 2024 Saint Laurent collection. True to the collection’s runway pieces, her dress was entirely see-through, crafted from sheer, stretchy pantyhose material. She completed the look with Saint Laurent’s La Scandale wedges and styled her hair in a deep, Old Hollywood side part with perfectly polished waves.
The dress featured a halter neckline and a sheer bodice, with the thin material ruched, knotted, and tucked along her midsection before flowing into a midi-length pencil skirt with visible seams and a thick hem.
In February, Vaccarello addressed critics’ concerns about the practicality of garments made from delicate hosiery material, emphasizing that runway presentations are about fantasy, not reality. “So much fashion, so many things that just look the same. I wanted to propose something that hadn’t been done before that would get me excited,” he said. “My job isn’t always to do something that’s real or realistic.”
What ends up in Saint Laurent boutiques may differ from Hadid’s ensemble. Like the runway, her unique Cannes creation is meant to inspire rather than be replicated by the general public. “Don’t even ask me about production, I can’t tell you,” Vaccarello concluded.
Earlier this weekend, Hadid was seen in Cannes wearing a less-sheer but equally stylish minidress. The espresso-hued dress featured a structured, corset-inspired bodice, and she accessorized it with a camel-colored Prada handbag, demonstrating her flair for easy, breezy, monochrome dressing while enjoying the sun in the South of France.
