Blake Lively Issues Apology for Making Light of Kate Middleton’s Photoshop Scandal Following Royal’s Cancer Announcement

Blake Lively has come forward to address a previous jest she made. Coinciding with Kate Middleton’s disclosure of her cancer diagnosis, the actress expressed her regret over a prior quip regarding Middleton’s Photoshop controversy through her Instagram Story.
“I’m sure no one cares today but I feel like I have to acknowledge this,” Blake penned on Instagram. “I made a silly post amidst the ‘photoshop fails’ uproar, and, oh man, I am truly embarrassed by that post today. I apologize. Sending love and best wishes to everyone, always.”
The episode began earlier in the month amidst speculations about Kate’s absence since her abdominal surgery in January.
During her period away from the public eye, Kate shared a photograph of herself with Prince William and their children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5. This led to the withdrawal of the photo by photo agencies over claims of digital alteration.
Kate soon confirmed these actions, stating in a release, “As many hobbyist photographers might, I sometimes play around with editing. I regret any confusion caused by the family photo we shared yesterday.”
The incident prompted comments from various celebrities, including Blake, who utilized the moment to promote her non-alcoholic beverage brand with a deliberately badly edited photo, hinting at the situation in her caption.
“I’m so excited to unveil this new photo I captured today to announce our 4 new @bettybuzz & @bettybooze products. This explains my recent absence,” the caption said.
Blake’s playful remark was swiftly followed by Kate’s announcement of her illness, leading to Blake’s apology and expressions of support for the princess. Leaders from around the world, celebrities, and members of the royal family have since extended their well-wishes to Kate.
Regarding Kate’s spouse, a source informed ET that William “has remained by Kate’s side,” emphasizing that “his foremost concern through this has been the wellbeing of his wife and children.”
