Brittany Cartwright: We were having sex all the time 24/7

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright discuss the challenges in their marriage on “The Valley,” revealing how their intimacy has changed and the decisions leading to their separation.

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright opened up about the challenges in their marital intimacy during a recent episode of “The Valley.” The Bravo celebrities shared insights into the evolving dynamics of their relationship.

“When Jax and I first met, it was awesome,” Brittany, 35, reflected during a confessional aired on April 9. “We were having sex all the time, 24/7. We didn’t miss a day. And then it has just changed dramatically. I’m talking twice in the past year.”

Jax, 44, also expressed his feelings in his confessional, acknowledging a significant decline in their romantic connection. “The romantic spark is just not there right now,” he admitted.

“I will take blame. Yeah, I let that spark fizzle,” Jax continued. “It’s not fair to either one of us. Especially it’s not fair to my wife. She deserves to have a man be loving to her.”

The presence of their 2-year-old son Cruz has further complicated their situation. Jax humorously remarked on the drastic change in their intimate life, saying, “Now it’s like, ‘Do we do it this month?’”

“I’m lacking in the intimacy part,” Jax confided to fellow dads and costars Jesse Lally and Danny Booko, noting that they now feel they have to schedule time for intimacy.

In a candid moment on their “When Reality Hits” podcast in February, Jax and Brittany announced they were separating and living separately. Brittany shared with her listeners, “Marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” as she explained their decision to take time apart for her mental health.

The couple clarified that infidelity was not a factor in their decision to split, a topic that often comes up in public breakups.

As “The Valley” continues to air, viewers are gaining a clearer picture of the factors influencing their decision to separate. Jax reflected on the impact of parenting on their relationship, saying, “I remember when Brittany was pregnant we were making jokes like, ‘We’re never gonna have sex again.’ I’m not gonna lie, it has been a little bit of an issue because, you know, your marriage and your sex life kind of take a back seat when you have a child. It’s a big deal and I don’t want it to become a bigger deal.”

“The Valley” airs on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo, with episodes streaming the following day on Peacock.
