Phillip Schofield’s brother, Timothy Schofield, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexually abusing a boy.
Timothy, 54, was found guilty of 11 sexual offenses against a child between 2016 and 2019. In addition to his imprisonment, he was dismissed from his job as a civilian worker for Avon and Somerset Police.
Phillip Schofield commented on his brother’s conviction, stating that he no longer considers him a brother.
The charges included causing a child to witness sexual activity, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, and engaging in sexual activity with a child.
Following the disclosure of abuse to a school counselor, the victim was interviewed by the police. The victim described feeling emotionally blackmailed by Schofield.
During the trial at Exeter Crown Court, the defendant, who resides in Bath, Somerset, argued that he had watched pornography with the boy but maintained that the boy was above the age of 16 at that time.
