Christina Applegate: I Live Kind of in Hell

Bollywoodfever, March 11: Christina Applegate shared her experiences of living with multiple sclerosis during her first on-camera interview since her diagnosis in 2021, featured on “Good Morning America.”

“I live kind of in hell,” Applegate revealed to Robin Roberts in a preview of the interview aired on “GMA” Monday morning. “I’m not out a lot, so this is a little difficult, just for my system. But of course, the support is wonderful and I’m really grateful.”

The interview, set to broadcast in its entirety on Tuesday, saw Applegate alongside Jamie-Lynn Sigler of “The Sopranos” fame, who has been battling MS since the age of 20.

Applegate was met with a standing ovation as a surprise presenter at the Emmys in January. “We don’t have to applaud every time I do something,” she humorously remarked, prompting laughter and applause from the audience.

Reflecting on her Emmy appearance, Applegate confessed, “I actually kind of blacked out.” She continued, “People said, ‘Oh you were so funny,’ and I’m like, ‘I don’t even know what I said.’ I don’t know what I was doing. I got so freaked out that I didn’t even know what was happening anymore. And I felt really beloved, and it was a beautiful thing.”

In May 2023, Applegate expressed doubts about returning to on-camera work due to her condition. “I’m probably not going to work on-camera again, but I’m so glad that I went out with someone who is by far the greatest actress I’ve ever worked with in my entire life, if not the greatest human I’ve ever known,” she shared with Vanity Fair, referring to her “Dead to Me” co-star Linda Cardellini.

However, Applegate mentioned she remains open to voiceover work to support her family and stay mentally active.

The comprehensive interview with Applegate and Sigler is scheduled to air on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday.
