The Enforcement Directorate has initiated a money laundering investigation against YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav and others in connection with the snake venom-rave party case.

Elvish Yadav Faces Money Laundering Probe in Snake Venom-Rave Party Case

The agency has invoked the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after taking note of a case filed against Yadav and others in Noida on November 2, 2023. The ED is probing the alleged proceeds of crime generation and the use of illicit funds for organizing raves or parties.

Sources informed news agency PTI that Elvish Yadav and others associated with the case will be questioned as part of the investigation.

Yadav was arrested by the Noida Police on March 17 for allegedly providing snake venom at a suspected rave party he had purportedly hosted. The 26-year-old was subsequently presented before a court and remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

However, he was granted bail by a Noida court five days after his arrest. The five other accused, all snake charmers, were arrested in November and later released on bail by a local court.

During the investigation, nine snakes, including five cobras, were seized from the accused, along with 20 ml of suspected snake venom.

In a recent development, the Noida Police filed a 1200-page chargesheet against Elvish Yadav and eight others in the snake venom-rave party case, detailing evidence of exotic snake smuggling and rave parties. The chargesheet also highlighted the reasons for invoking the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) in the case.

Earlier in March, Yadav was granted bail in an assault case involving content creator Sagar Thakur, also known as Maxtern.
