Human Remains Found Near Missing Texas Student Caleb Harris' Apartment

Human remains discovered in a well near Texas A&M student Caleb Harris’ apartment. Harris disappeared in March, and police are investigating the connection.

Texas, Bollywood Fever: Human remains have been discovered in a well near the apartment of missing Texas college student Caleb Harris, who vanished months ago after stepping out to collect a food delivery.

City employees in Corpus Christi, Texas, found the remains while performing routine maintenance work on a 40-foot deep well at the Perry Point wastewater collection point on Monday, according to a statement by Corpus Christi police.

The remains were discovered near the apartment of Caleb Harris, a 21-year-old sophomore at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, who disappeared on March 4 without his shoes, wallet, and keys.

The well was drained to allow emergency services to retrieve the remains, as reported by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. Police stated there were “no obvious signs” of homicide, but the remains have been transported to the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office for examination and identification. The age and gender of the body have not been determined.

Detectives are investigating how the human remains ended up in the well.

In the early hours of March 4, Harris went downstairs to collect an Uber Eats delivery at his Corpus Christi home but never returned. His roommate found the order outside the apartment door the next day, and Harris was reported missing by 11 am.

Harris had spent the evening playing with a dog recently bought by one of his two roommates and had been sending Snapchats to his sister moments before he vanished. His last known location, according to the Snapchat app, was in front of the entrance area of The Cottages, an off-campus student housing complex in Corpus Christi.

Uber confirmed the order was delivered to the doorstep of the apartment block on Ennis Joslin Road, with no sign of Harris, who had turned off his phone seconds earlier.

“He kind of vanished,” father Randy Harris said following his disappearance. “There’s no evidence of wrongdoing, but there’s no evidence at all.”

Police and Harris’ family have been desperately searching for the student since his disappearance a few months ago.

The discovery of the remains has brought renewed attention to the case, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Harris’ disappearance and the discovery of the remains.
