The intimate ceremony featured The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev as Szohr’s maid of honor. While the couple has kept many details private, Szohr shared glimpses of their special day on her Instagram Story, including a black-and-white photo captioned “Tying the knot” with several friends, including her former Gossip Girl co-star Chace Crawford.
Szohr and Richardson went public with their relationship in March 2019, shortly after Us Weekly revealed their budding romance. Before his retirement in 2022, Richardson, originally from Canada, had a successful hockey career, playing for teams such as the Colorado Avalanche, Los Angeles Kings—where he won the Stanley Cup in 2012—Vancouver Canucks, Arizona Coyotes, and Nashville Predators.
The couple’s love story blossomed even further in September 2020 when Szohr announced she was expecting their first child. They welcomed their daughter, Bowie Wila, in January 2022. Szohr, in a heartfelt Instagram post, expressed the joy of becoming a mother, describing her daughter as “absolutely perfect in our eyes” and sharing the deep emotions she felt during this new chapter in her life.
Szohr announced her engagement to Richardson in May 2022, sharing a picture of her stunning ring on Instagram with the caption, “I said yes!” The couple’s journey to the altar has been filled with love, happiness, and the joy of building a family together.
Before her relationship with Richardson, Szohr had high-profile romances with her Gossip Girl co-star Ed Westwick, NFL star Aaron Rodgers, and New York Jets player Scotty McKnight. Richardson was previously married to Lauren Hunt, with whom he shares a daughter, before their divorce in 2018.
