While Kanye West was spotted leaving The Ritz in Paris, France, with his partner Bianca Censori on Wednesday (Feb. 28), a group of his French fans gathered to show their support for the rapper. During their departure, the crowd was heard vocally criticizing Adidas, using explicit language in their chants as Kanye and Bianca entered their vehicle.
Kanye West Advises Against Purchasing “Unauthentic” Yeezys
The occurrence followed West’s public plea on Instagram, urging his followers not to purchase the recently released Yeezy sneakers by Adidas, which he labeled as “unauthentic.” Despite not interacting with the crowd, Bianca acknowledged them with a smile as they boarded their car. West insisted that buying the latest Yeezy release equated to supporting counterfeit products.
West articulated his grievances on Instagram, highlighting that he had not designed the new colorways and was not profiting from them, amidst Adidas suing him. He criticized the public and celebrities for their selective activism, pointing out the contrast in reactions to his personal disputes and a major corporation’s alleged exploitation of him.
In a candid video on Instagram, West elaborated on his conflict with Adidas, accusing the company of releasing unauthorized product designs and suing him for a substantial sum while withholding payments for products bearing his name. He condemned the company’s tactics as exploitative, emphasizing the impact on an artist cherished by many.
Adidas concluded its partnership with West in October 2023 following his controversial remarks deemed anti-Semitic.
