Kim Kardashian has finished transforming her $70 million Malibu mansion, previously owned by Cindy Crawford, into a contemporary, monochromatic estate, echoing her Hidden Hills home.

The reality TV star, 43, transformed the sprawling beachfront estate into a contemporary, monochromatic haven, nearly two years after purchasing the property.
The mansion, originally featuring a Mediterranean-inspired design, now boasts a sleek, modern aesthetic that complements Kardashian’s $60 million megamansion in Hidden Hills. The renovations began in early 2023 and were recently finished, marking a significant transformation of the luxurious property.
Kardashian’s updates come as her ex-husband Kanye West slashed $14 million off the asking price of his deteriorating Malibu mansion, which now sits in ruin. In contrast, Kardashian’s newly renovated home stands as a testament to her refined taste and vision.
The estate, previously owned by Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, was bought by the couple in 2015 and showcased in Crawford’s 2017 “73 Questions” interview for Vogue. They listed the home for $60 million in 2018, and it was subsequently purchased by Yellowstone actress Barret Swatek and her husband, investor Adam Weiss, for $45 million. The couple then listed it for $99.5 million in March 2022. Kardashian closed the deal in September 2022, securing the mansion with a $48 million mortgage.
During an episode of “The Kardashians” that aired last summer, Kardashian expressed her joy over achieving her dream of owning a home in Malibu. She shared a glimpse of the property, built in 1944, which features four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and spans 7,450 square feet over two levels. The mansion is situated on a three-acre lot with amenities including a tennis court, pool, spa, fire pit, cabana with an outdoor fireplace, and a private stairway to El Sol Beach.
Kardashian’s renovations included changing the wraparound deck flooring from light-colored tile to smooth concrete, adding monochromatic outdoor furniture, and updating the landscaping with taller trees and more greenery. She also applied a fresh coat of paint to match the modern color scheme. The final touch was replacing the terracotta-colored, interlocking crown roof tiles with sleek, light gray ones.
The mansion, located on Billionaire’s Row, places Kardashian among A-list neighbors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Neil Diamond. Prior to her renovations, Harrison Design senior principal Jesse Harrison detailed some upgrades made by previous owners, including a major refresh to the pool, spa, and cabana area, as well as creating a motor court, private parking area, interior entry courtyard, and outdoor space adjacent to the gym.
With these renovations, Kardashian has successfully transformed the Malibu mansion into a serene, modern oasis, reflecting her signature style and luxury living.
