The incident occurred in the early hours of August 17, when authorities from the Malibu/Lost Hill Sheriff’s Station responded to a call shortly after midnight. Upon arrival, Madsen was taken into custody under Penal Code 243(e)(1), which indicates that force or violence was allegedly used against a cohabitant—in this case, Madsen’s wife, DeAnna Madsen.
Madsen, 66, posted a $20,000 bond following his arrest and has since been released from custody. A representative for Madsen addressed the situation, telling Variety, “It was a disagreement between Michael and his wife, which we hope resolves positively for them both.”
Although Madsen has yet to comment on the incident publicly or via his social media channels, his followers have already expressed their opinions on the matter through comments on his latest Instagram post.
