Nikki Glaser revealed that a random comedian was behind Kim Kardashian being booed at Tom Brady’s roast — and it had nothing to do with her rivalry with Taylor Swift.
The comedian shared that she encountered someone at the Comedy Store in West Hollywood, California, after the May 5 Netflix special. They were accompanied by a “wild guy who’s a comedian” known for “starting s–t.”
“Apparently, he started the boo as just, like, a joke. He just had too many drinks or something, and he’s not affiliated with Swifties or anything [and] just felt like saying a boo into the air, and apparently everyone was so riled up,” Glaser said in Tuesday’s episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast.
Glaser emphasized that the booing wasn’t orchestrated by Swift fans. She noted that the audience at “The Roast of Tom Brady” was mostly “sports fans” who may not follow the Kardashians.
“It just kinda caught wind, but it wasn’t Swiftie-meditated. I do have that on good information that it was not based on that. Because I was like, this doesn’t feel like a huge Swiftie crowd, but it didn’t feel like that was the vibe in the room,” she continued.
Glaser theorized that the people who booed Kardashian were likely “sports fans wanting to have some sort of release to boo.”
“The guy started it as a joke, and it caught on too much, but I was so glad to learn it was not Swiftie-meditated,” Glaser, a Swiftie herself, said.
The “FBoy Island” host pointed out that “it’s not just Swifties who have beef” with Kardashian, as many people still believe that the reality star and her family are “not talented” and “famous for nothing.”
“I don’t want to hear that anymore that they’re not talented. They clearly are! They’ve achieved something consistently for 20 years now. They’re talented! It just doesn’t look like the talent you define,” she said.
Glaser’s explanation came after numerous viewers speculated that Swift’s fans had booed Kardashian, fueled by their years-long feud, which Swift, 34, recently referenced in her song “thanK you aIMee.”
Kardashian was in the middle of roasting the NFL legend, 46, when she had to pause as a roar of boos erupted, which Netflix later edited out.
“All right, all right, all right,” she said, keeping her cool.
Kardashian has yet to address the negative reaction in detail but has since been seen out and about, boasting about having “fun.”
