Olivia Munn Lauds Kate Middleton for Her ‘Grace and Determination’ Amid Their Respective Cancer Treatment Journey
Olivia Munn expressed admiration for Kate Middleton’s resilience and elegance as they both navigate their cancer treatments. Munn conveyed her support and respect in an Instagram comment on Friday, March 22, saying, “Thank you for showing what it’s like to fight with grace and determination for yourself and for your family,” and wished Kate all the best in her journey.
This show of solidarity came shortly after Kate, 42, disclosed her cancer diagnosis through a heartfelt video on Friday. She revealed undergoing significant abdominal surgery in London earlier in January, initially believed to be for a noncancerous condition. Unfortunately, subsequent tests indicated the presence of cancer, leading to Kate beginning preventative chemotherapy.
The diagnosis took Kate and her family by surprise, prompting her and Prince William to inform their children—Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5—before making the news public.
Kate voiced her gratitude for the overwhelming support and emphasized her focus on healing “in my mind, body, and spirits.” The presence and support of Prince William have been a tremendous comfort, along with the outpouring of love and support from the public. Kate and William have asked for privacy during this time as Kate continues her treatment.
Munn‘s message of encouragement follows her own announcement that she was diagnosed with breast cancer after a preventive health screening and a series of negative genetic tests, including the BRCA gene. Despite a clear mammogram, she faced a diagnosis and underwent “four surgeries” in the past year. Munn expressed her gratitude towards her partner, John Mulaney, and the medical team supporting her through the process.
Munn reflected on her emotional journey, noting, “Surprisingly, I’ve only cried twice. I guess I haven’t felt like there was time to cry,” highlighting her determination to maintain a clear head during her treatment.
