Passenger Arrested for Urinating Mid-Flight, Causing Emergency Diversion
A man was arrested for urinating in the cabin during an American Airlines flight, leading to an emergency diversion to Buffalo. He faces charges of indecent exposure.
Bollywood Fever: In an incident more befitting a far-fetched comedy than reality, a passenger on an American Airlines flight caused an emergency diversion after allegedly urinating in the middle of the cabin. The episode occurred on a flight from Chicago to New Hampshire, which ultimately had to divert to Buffalo.
Photos circulating online show a man in a red baseball cap standing in the aisle, apparently mid-act, turning what was meant to be a routine journey into an unforgettable and unpleasant experience for all aboard. The flight crew responded swiftly, and the plane was met by law enforcement upon landing in Buffalo.
The passenger in question, identified as Neil McCarthy, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure. According to reports from Fox Business, McCarthy confessed to consuming several Jack & Cokes before boarding the flight in Oregon and continued drinking during his layover in Chicago.

The incident is the latest in a string of viral airplane disturbances, highlighting a growing trend of unruly behavior in the skies. Recently, a woman on a United Airlines flight from Miami to Newark made headlines for allegedly biting a flight attendant.
An American Airlines spokesperson confirmed the incident in a statement to TMZ, noting that American Eagle flight 3921, operated by Envoy Air, diverted to Buffalo due to a disruptive passenger. “The aircraft was met by law enforcement upon arrival at BUF and re-departed shortly after. We thank our team members for their professionalism and our customers for their understanding,” the spokesperson said.
Sources indicate that McCarthy has since been banned from flying with American Airlines. The situation serves as a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining decorum while traveling, no matter the circumstances.
