Reactions on Twitch’s Artistic Nudity Policy, After Morgpie Faces Twitch Ban Following Controversial ‘Topless’ Meta, Twitch changes its policy and added new Artistic Nudity policy.

Twitch is revamping its approach to sexual content by permitting certain previously restricted material, provided it carries a warning label.

This adjustment comes in response to longstanding challenges in moderating sexual content on the platform, with past instances of inconsistent enforcement generating criticism.

Notably, Twitch faced controversy for banning Indiefoxx due to a claimed wardrobe malfunction, while opting to issue a warning rather than a ban to top streamer Pokimane for inadvertently displaying a Pornhub page.

The platform’s updated policy allows content featuring “deliberately highlighted breasts, buttocks, or pelvic region” to be shown, as long as it is accompanied by a Content Classification Label (CCL).

Introduced in June, the CCL allows creators to notify users about sexual themes, gambling, vulgarity, or other mature content in their streams. The same applies to drawn, animated, or sculpted representations of “fully exposed female-presenting breasts and/or genitals or buttocks, regardless of gender,” as well as “body writing on female-presenting breasts and/or buttocks.”

Streams featuring erotic dances such as strip teases will not face consequences if labeled appropriately, while Twitch no longer mandates a label for streams involving twerking, grinding, and pole dancing.
