Shakira Makes a Comeback with Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran

Shakira is making a grand return with her first full-length album in seven years, slated for release on March 22. Titled “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (“Women Don’t Cry Anymore”), the album’s name references one of Shakira’s most iconic lines from her Latin Grammy-winning “Music Sessions Vol. 53,” created with Bizarrap.

Reflecting on the creative process, Shakira shared, “Making this body of work has been an alchemical process. While writing each song I was rebuilding myself. While singing them, my tears transformed into diamonds, and my vulnerability into strength.”

The album features a total of 16 tracks, including eight new songs and a remix, along with seven previously released singles like “Music Sessions Vol. 53” with Bizarrap, “TQG” with Karol G, and “Te Felicito” with Rauw Alejandro.

This release marks Shakira’s first foray into vinyl, offering fans four distinct artwork editions, each paired with an exclusive colored vinyl variant. The Sapphire edition will be available exclusively on Amazon, while the Ruby edition will be found solely at Target. The Emerald edition will be an exclusive offering on Shakira’s official website, and the Diamond edition will be stocked by all major retailers.

In the past year, Shakira has continued to make waves in the music industry, winning multiple Latin Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year and Best Pop Song for “Music Sessions Vol. 53” and Best Urban Fusion/Performance for “TQG.” Additionally, “Music Sessions Vol. 53” set a record as the Spanish-language song with the most streams in a single day in Spotify history.

Shakira’s achievements were further celebrated with the prestigious Video Vanguard Award at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, where she delivered a captivating 10-minute performance featuring hits like “She Wolf,” “Te Felicito,” and “TQG.”
