Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are back in the U.S. after Biles’ successful Olympics in Paris. Biles defends Owens against backlash for wearing her gold medal.
Bollywood Fever: Simone Biles and her husband Jonathan Owens have reunited in the United States following a summer that saw Biles add to her historic Olympic legacy in Paris.
The gymnast, who won three gold medals and one silver at the Games, returned home to celebrate with Owens, a safety for the Chicago Bears, after he supported her in Paris.
Owens, who took time off from NFL training camp to be by Biles’ side during the Olympics, was seen proudly wearing one of her gold medals—a moment that sparked mixed reactions online.
Some fans criticized Owens, calling his behavior “odd” and even suggesting he should “take it off,” as seen in a viral TikTok video.
However, Biles was quick to defend her husband on social media. “Crazy thing is, I put my medal on every single one of my family members and took pictures,” Biles responded. “So don’t ever make assumptions.” She further expressed her frustration with the negativity, adding, “Y’all are so f****ng miserable. leave us alone.”
Now back home, Biles shared a heartwarming picture on Thursday of Owens alongside his English bulldog, Zeus, showing the couple enjoying their time together after the whirlwind of the Olympics.
Despite the online criticism, the couple continues to support each other, with Biles’ latest achievements solidifying her status as one of the greatest athletes in U.S. history and Owens standing proudly by her side.
