Golden State Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr reveals a new offensive strategy for the 2024-2025 season, drawing inspiration from 49ers Coach Kyle Shanahan’s precise terminology.
BollywoodFever: Golden State Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr, who led the franchise to four NBA titles, is looking to bounce back after last year’s disappointing 10th-place finish in the Western Conference. With the 2024-2025 season on the horizon, Kerr revealed to NBC Sports Bay Area that the Warriors are planning significant changes to their offensive approach.

Kerr emphasized the need for clearer and more concise terminology in the Warriors’ playbook, a shift inspired by his offseason consultations with other coaches. Most notably, he credited 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan’s meticulous use of terminology as a key influence on his new strategy. Kerr attended 49ers team discussions and was struck by how Shanahan labeled every action, which sparked ideas for revamping the Warriors’ historically free-flowing offense.
“We’ve run a lot of organic offense in the past, giving players freedom to play out of concepts,” Kerr explained. “But we’re now labeling actions and making things clearer, especially for our young players.”
Kerr believes this refined approach will help streamline the team’s strategy and lead to more effective execution on the court. With clearer instructions and terminology, the Warriors hope to regain their championship form.
