This achievement has positioned it as the most-watched music film on the platform, as announced by Disney. Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, dedicated 16.2 million hours to watching the three-and-a-half-hour concert film over the weekend. Disney+ calculates a “view” based on the total stream time divided by the runtime of the film.

The “Eras Tour” film premiered globally on Disney+ on Thursday, March 14, at 6 p.m. PT. This expanded version of the film features five bonus songs, including “Cardigan” from the album “Folklore,” along with four acoustic tracks: “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” “Maroon,” “You Are in Love,” and “I Can See You.” These songs, in addition to “Our Song” and “You’re on Your Own Kid,” are part of a 26-minute Acoustic Collection extra. The concert film captures the first three Los Angeles shows of the Eras tour that took place last August.

Disney+ hosts a variety of other music films and specials, including Swift’s own “Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions,” “Elton John: Farewell From Dodger Stadium,” “Black Is King: A Film by Beyoncé,” and “The Beatles: Get Back.”

Disney reportedly invested over $75 million for the global streaming rights to the “Eras Tour” concert film, which was produced by Swift’s company. In its theatrical run, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” garnered $261.7 million globally at the box office following its October 13 debut, setting a new record as the highest-grossing concert film of all time. The film was digitally released by Universal Pictures on December 13, coinciding with Swift’s birthday, and included three bonus songs not featured in the theatrical version—“Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer,” and “Long Live”—all of which are also available in the Disney+ version.
