In celebration of the iconic role-playing game’s 50th anniversary, LEGO is set to launch its inaugural official Dungeons & Dragons set, titled “LEGO Ideas Dungeons and Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale.” This launch is a highlight of the upcoming festivities for D&D’s 50th anniversary, which promises new rulesets and thrilling high-level adventures.
The set, “LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale,” brings to life the imaginative vision of a dedicated 32-year-old D&D enthusiast. This fan-inspired creation emerged as the victor in a competition and has since been refined in collaboration with LEGO’s design team to ensure the final product exceeds expectations. Lucas Bolt, the fan behind the design, played a pivotal role in developing this eagerly anticipated set alongside LEGO’s expert designers.
When?
For enthusiasts eager to acquire this remarkable Dungeons & Dragons crossover set, it will be accessible to Lego Insiders starting April 1 at Lego stores and through a specific website. Subsequently, the set will be open for purchase to the general public from April 4.

The set will be priced at $359.99. Purchasing this set between the 1st and 7th of April will allow buyers to receive a LEGO D&D Mimic dice box for free.

Comprising 3,745 pieces, this comprehensive set features a tavern, dungeon, and tower, encapsulating the essence of classic Dungeons & Dragons adventures and settings. Integral to any D&D experience is a party of adventurers, and this set delivers with a collection of minifigures: an Orc Rogue, Gnome Fighter, Elf Wizard, and Dwarf Cleric, ready for exploration.
Additionally, the set brings to life iconic D&D monsters in LEGO form, including a Beholder, Displacer Beast, Owlbear, and the pivotal Red Dragon.
In an exciting twist, the collaboration between LEGO and Wizards of the Coast, the creators of D&D, extends beyond the physical set. A special D&D adventure book, resulting from this partnership, will be available for free digital download to LEGO Insiders.
