Robert Lewandowski Praises Barcelona’s Youngsters After 2-1 Comeback Win

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski hails the performance of the team’s youngsters after a 2-1 comeback victory against Valencia in their LaLiga season opener, emphasizing the importance of the win amidst injury challenges.

Bollywood Fever: Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski expressed his pride in his team’s resilience and the impressive performances of the young players during their 2-1 comeback victory against Valencia in the LaLiga season opener on Saturday.

Despite missing key players like Ilkay Gundogan, Pedri, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, and Frenkie De Jong due to injuries, Barcelona’s youngsters stepped up to secure a hard-fought win.

New manager Hansi Flick handed 20-year-old academy midfielder Marc Casado his senior debut, alongside three 17-year-olds: Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, and Marc Bernal.

Despite the inexperience, the young players held their own, contributing to the team’s comeback victory.

Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowski, who scored both goals in the match, praised the team’s determination and the potential of the young players.

“It was very important to start with a win in such a difficult stadium and with the problems we faced,” Lewandowski told Movistar Plus. “We didn’t play well for the first 20 to 25 minutes. In the first half, we had problems getting close to their box, but then we started playing much better, and we did it with three or four very young players.”

The striker highlighted the significance of the win, especially given the youthfulness of the squad.

“If you can win like this with such young players, it is something special, and they have shown big potential,” Lewandowski added. “No signs of the lack of experience, they played very well with possession and without the ball. We could have won by a larger margin, but it’s great to start the season with a win.”

Lewandowski’s brace and the impressive performances of Barcelona’s youngsters set a positive tone for the season, showcasing the depth and potential of the squad even in the face of injury challenges.
