Fox Set to Broadcast College Football Games on Friday Nights Starting This Fall
Bollywoodfever, March 7: Fox is set to enhance its college football broadcast lineup by introducing a series of Friday night games this fall.
The lineup will feature exciting matchups from the Big Ten, Big 12, and Mountain West conferences.
The exact schedule is expected to be announced between late May and early June, following the annual selection meetings between the conferences and the networks.

Traditionally, Friday night games were limited to the season’s opening week and the day after Thanksgiving.
However, this move isn’t unprecedented for the involved conferences.
Since 2017, the Big Ten has hosted a select number of Friday games broadcasted on the Big Ten Network and FS1.
Last season, the Big 12 showcased three Friday night games on ESPN, and the Mountain West had several games aired on the CBS Sports Network and two on FS1.
This new college football package on Fox comes as the network seeks to fill the programming gap on Friday nights this fall, especially with WWE’s “Friday Night SmackDown” transitioning to the USA Network in October. Fox plans to broadcast a few games in September, a strategy similar to what was done during the baseball playoffs and World Series when “SmackDown” moved to FS1.
Fox’s venture into Friday night football aligns with its successful “Big Noon Saturday” broadcasts, launched in 2019. Last season, “Big Noon Saturday” garnered an average of 6.74 million viewers on Fox, marking an 8% increase from 2022, and proving the network’s capability to capitalize on what is seen as an underexplored timeslot for sports broadcasting.
