Angie Harmon’s Devastation: Beloved Dog Fatally Shot by Delivery Worker Over Easter Weekend
Angie Harmon experienced a tragic incident over Easter weekend when her dog was fatally shot by a grocery delivery worker.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday, April 1, Harmon, aged 51, recounted the harrowing event: “This Easter weekend a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver. He got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot our dog,” alongside sharing pictures of her dog, Oliver. Harmon further mentioned that their home security camera was offline, which the deliveryman noticed, and he acted without fear of being recorded. Despite his claims of “self-defense,” Harmon noted, “The police let him go b/c he claimed ‘self defense.’ He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn.”
She revealed that the deliveryman used a female identity named “Merle” for his shopping activities and later exposed his photo on her Story.
Harmon expressed her and her daughters’ shock and trauma over the incident: “He shot our dog with my daughters & myself at home & just kept saying, ‘Yeah, I shot your dog. Yeah I did,’” illustrating the profound impact the loss of Oliver has had on her family.
Celebrities like Allison Janney and Paulina Porizkov voiced their horror and disbelief at the news. Janney expressed being “horrified and beyond disbelief,” while Porizkov found the situation “UNBELIEVABLE” and struggled to react.
Harmon also addressed the deliveryman directly on her Instagram Story, condemning his actions: “Your actions are despicable and inexcusable. You’ve not only robbed us of a beloved member of our family but you’ve also traumatized us beyond measure,” she wrote. She lamented the inability to bid farewell to Oliver, expressing devastation over the senseless act.
