Los Angeles, Bollywood Fever: Ben Affleck was spotted visiting his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, in Los Angeles on Sunday, amid ongoing rumors of marital issues with his current wife, Jennifer Lopez. The Oscar winner, 51, was seen stepping out of a sleek vehicle holding a book and a can of Diet Coke.
Affleck dressed casually in classic denim jeans and a short-sleeved, printed gray shirt with “Speed Motors Unlimited” on the front. He completed his look with a pair of Nike sneakers. Meanwhile, Garner was seen after a coffee run, wearing black fitted leggings, a blue short-sleeved shirt, and white sneakers, with her hair pulled back in a sleek ponytail and stylish shades shielding her eyes from the sun.
Affleck and Garner, who were married from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018, share three children: Violet, 18, Finn (formerly known as Seraphina), 15, and Samuel, 12.
This visit comes amid reports of marital strife between Affleck and Lopez, who married in July 2022. The two stars are reportedly living separately, with Lopez residing in their $60 million mansion and Affleck staying at a $100k-a-month rental in Brentwood. A source told People that Affleck “moved his things out” of their home, stating, “Ben continues to live at the Brentwood rental. He’s been there for about two months now.”
The source added, “He seems okay. He’s been at his office every day and seems focused on work. He’s also spending time with his kids.”
Lopez recently returned to the U.S. after a solo trip to Italy, where she was seen enjoying time with friends on a boat in Positano. She also attended Paris Fashion Week, where she appeared at the Dior Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024-2025 runway show.
The couple’s mansion in Beverly Hills was put on the market in early June for $65 million, further fueling divorce rumors. Despite these issues, Lopez is set to star in two upcoming movies for Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company, “Unstoppable” and “Kiss Of The Spider Woman.”
A source told DailyMail.com that Lopez is “over” trying to make her marriage with Affleck work, stating, “Jenny has had enough and she really tried but she can do no more, it’s not getting any better, it’s worse.” The source added that the main reason for the separation was Affleck’s persistent negativity, describing him as “grumpy and a downer.”
“Jennifer is sad about the end of her nuptials but is trying to make the best of it by working out, spending time with her twins Max and Emme, and making new plans for 2025,” the source continued. Lopez plans to resume her “This Is Me… Live” tour in the summer of 2025, having canceled the 2024 tour to “recollect herself.”
Lopez has also struck a new deal with Netflix to adapt Emily Henry’s novel “Happy Place” into a series. The series will follow a couple who met in college but abruptly break up, only to pretend to still be together during an annual getaway with friends.
Despite the marital woes, the source added that Lopez remains strong and resilient: “She is a very smart and strong woman and she will bounce back, she always does!”
The source also noted that Affleck and Lopez are being “cordial” with each other as they navigate their separation.
