Breaking Bad Star Mark Margolis Passes Away at 83
Mark Margolis, renowned for his portrayal of “Tio” Hector Salamanca in “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” has passed away.
According to a statement from his team on Friday, the actor died at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC on Thursday following a brief illness. At the time of his passing, Mark’s wife and son were by his side.
Fans of “Breaking Bad” will recognize Margolis for his exceptional performance as the silent and wheelchair-bound drug lord who communicated through a bell.
Mark received well-deserved praise for his role and earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2012. He also reprised his character in “Better Call Saul.”
Although he made a significant impact on television, Mark’s career extended over several decades and encompassed roles in films like “Scarface,” “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” and “Black Swan.”
Mark is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, to whom he was married for an impressive 61 years, as well as his son Morgan, Morgan’s wife Heide, and his three cherished grandsons.
