Brooklyn Nets Acquire Ziaire Williams and Second-Round Pick in Trade with Memphis Grizzlies
Bollywood Fever: Brooklyn Nets have acquired forward Ziaire Williams and a second-round pick in the 2030 NBA Draft from the Memphis Grizzlies in a trade finalized on Friday. The Grizzlies received forward Mamadi Diakite and the draft rights to Serbian wing Nemanja Dangubic, the 54th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
Diakite, who was traded to the Nets on July 6 as part of the deal that sent forward Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks, will now head to Memphis. The 2030 second-round pick received by the Nets is via the Dallas Mavericks.
Ziaire Williams, 22, averaged 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 51 games (15 starts) last season. In his career, Williams has contributed 7.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 150 games (50 starts) since being selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Stanford.

Mamadi Diakite, 27, averaged 2.0 points in six games off the bench last season, split between the San Antonio Spurs and the Knicks. He has played for five teams since entering the NBA during the 2020-21 season.
The Grizzlies are reportedly working toward re-signing guard Luke Kennard to complete their roster following the trade.
This transaction reflects the Nets’ strategy of acquiring young talent and future draft assets, while the Grizzlies continue to adjust their roster dynamics ahead of the upcoming season.
