Camila Cabello has embraced her journey as a late bloomer, revealing that she had her first sexual experience at the age of 20, which she described as a lovely experience. Speaking on the ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast, the now 28-year-old singer shared details about this milestone, which occurred during her relationship with author and YouTuber Matthew Hussey, whom she met during a ‘Today Show’ taping in 2018.
Camila described her year-long romance with Matthew as her first real relationship. She mentioned that after going to dinner, they started dating, and when asked if she had been in a relationship before, she admitted that she hadn’t.
The former Fifth Harmony member also confirmed that she lost her virginity to Matthew, describing the experience as “literally lovemaking.” Despite feeling that their relationship sometimes felt calculated due to Matthew’s profession, Camila praised him as a great partner, acknowledging his role in expanding her world.
Camila and Matthew parted ways in 2019, after which Matthew married Audrey Le Strat in October 2023, while Camila began a relationship with frequent collaborator Shawn Mendes. Camila expressed her happiness for Matthew, congratulating him on the podcast.
Regarding her relationship with Shawn, Camila and Shawn dated on and off for a couple of years before officially ending their relationship last summer. Camila seems optimistic about the future, ready to explore new possibilities in her romantic life.
