The couple exchanged vows on February 24, marking a significant milestone less than a year after their engagement and just five months following the birth of their daughter, Capri Summer Godchaux.
In a heartfelt conversation with Vogue, Chanel shared their long-held aspirations, “We had always dreamed of this moment, discussing our future and the idea of marriage.”
At 33, Chanel, who is also a mother to daughters Cali Clay Shepard, 5, and Cassie Snow Shepard, 4, from her previous marriage to Sterling Shepard, revealed the couple’s decision to elope on a yacht in the Caribbean Sea, eventually celebrating their union in Anguilla.
The decision was driven by their eagerness to solidify their bond without waiting for the football season’s conclusion.
Chanel described the wedding as a dream come true, emphasizing the joy of celebrating with their children and blended family. “This was our ideal, dream day,” she stated, highlighting the intimate and personalized nature of their celebration.
However, the event was tinged with a hint of sadness as Davon Godchaux II, Davon’s 7-year-old son from a previous relationship, was unable to attend the ceremony at the last minute.
