Kimberlin Brown Shares Her Feelings on Departing ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’: ‘A Difficult Transition’

Bollywoodfever, February 27: Renowned soap opera antagonist Kimberlin Brown is navigating her emotions following the dramatic departure of her character, Sheila, from “The Bold & the Beautiful.”

“Being in this position is quite challenging for me. I’m being honest about it,” the 62-year-old actress disclosed to TV Insider on Tuesday, February 27. “Although, if Sheila had to be overthrown by anyone, I’m glad it was Steffy.”

For Brown, the scenario is mixed with emotions, as she would have preferred her character, Sheila Carter—whom she started portraying in the ’90s—not to be overpowered by anyone.

“This role has been my sanctuary, granting me over 35 years of incredible experiences,” she stated. “Yet, I recognize how fortunate I’ve been to have such a remarkable journey.”

On the Monday, February 26 episode of the CBS drama, Sheila’s storyline reached a climactic end as she was lethally wounded by her daughter-in-law, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

Brown mentioned to TV Insider that filming the death scene was not only emotionally straining but also physically challenging, resulting in her being “bruised for the week” due to “laying on concrete.” Reflecting on her final moments as Sheila, Brown contemplated her career’s next steps.

As I lay there, awaiting the paramedics to declare the time of death, with my eyes shut tight, making sure my breaths weren’t visible, I thought, ‘Well, let’s see what the future holds for me,'” she recounted.

Brown first introduced Sheila to audiences in 1990 on “The Young and the Restless,” before transitioning the character to “The Bold & the Beautiful” two years later. Over the decades, Brown has toggled between both soaps, earning a Daytime Emmy nomination in the process.

This departure marks not her first from the soap world. In 1998, she left the series for “Port Charles,” a “General Hospital” spinoff, and after leaving “Port Charles” in 2001, she joined “One Life to Live” in 2004, only to exit a year later due to salary disagreements.

She made a brief return to “The Young and the Restless” in 2005, but left again in 2006. In 2017, Brown returned to “The Bold & the Beautiful,” where Sheila tried to mend her relationship with her son Finn (John Finnegan) and navigated a tumultuous relationship with Deacon (Sean Kanan).
