Bollywood Fever: On Thursday, June 27, the Chicago Sky will compete against the reigning WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces, marking their first encounter of the 2024 season.
This game promises a star-studded lineup with Aces standouts A’ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum taking the court. However, the spotlight will be on the rookies, with Sky’s Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, along with Aces’ Kate Martin, drawing significant attention.
Since their debut in April, Reese, Cardoso, and Martin have all taken on prominent roles in their teams. Reese and Cardoso previously faced off against Martin and Caitlin Clark in the last two NCAAW National Championships. Reese’s LSU triumphed over Iowa in 2023, and Cardoso’s South Carolina defeated the Hawkeyes in 2024.
Ahead of the Sky-Aces clash, Martin shared her thoughts on Reese and Cardoso’s performance, describing them as “Big. Strong. Athletic.”
“I’m really happy for them for how they’ve been playing. They’re big, they’re strong, they’re athletic post players, and they go hard every play,” Martin said. “They rebound like crazy.
