Taylor Wily, known for his roles in “Hawaii Five-0” and “Magnum P.I.” and a former sumo wrestler, has passed away at 56. His friend and producer Peter M. Lenkov confirmed the news.

Bollywood Fever: Taylor Wily, the beloved actor known for his role as confidential informant Kamekona Tupuola on “Hawaii Five-0” and “Magnum P.I.,” has died at the age of 56. His death was confirmed by his friend and “Hawaii Five-0” executive producer Peter M. Lenkov on Friday.

Lenkov shared his grief on Instagram, posting multiple tributes to the actor, including a heartfelt caption stating, “I am devastated. Heartbroken.” KITV 4, based in Honolulu, first reported Wily’s death on Thursday, although details about the cause remain unknown. TV and radio personality Lina Girl Langi announced the news on the show “Island Life Live,” expressing sorrow over the loss of her friend.

In a video montage shared later on Thursday, Lenkov reflected on his relationship with Wily, stating, “You charmed me into making you a regular… on the show… and in my life. You were family. And I will miss you every day, brother.” He also praised Wily’s acting skills in a statement to the AP, highlighting his talent in both comedy and drama.

Wily portrayed Kamekona on “Hawaii Five-0” from 2010 through 2020, earning him a spot as a fan favorite. He continued the role in the reboot of “Magnum P.I.” and had a memorable appearance as a hotel worker in the 2008 comedy “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”

Before his acting career, Wily, born Teila Tuli, was a renowned sumo wrestler and UFC 1 fighter. He made history in 1993 as the first knockout victim in UFC history when opponent Gerard Gordeau’s kick ended the fight after just 26 seconds.

Wily is survived by his wife, Halona, and their two children. His contributions to both sports and entertainment have left a lasting legacy, and he will be deeply missed by fans and friends alike.
