As Inter Miami gears up for a pivotal clash against the Colorado Rapids, all eyes are on Lionel Messi’s potential return from a hamstring injury. With Coach Tata Martino weighing the risks, fans eagerly anticipate whether the football maestro will grace the field this Saturday in Fort Lauderdale.

The availability of Lionel Messi remains a critical concern for Inter Miami as the team anticipates the return of the football icon from a hamstring strain. Fans are eager to see Messi back in action for the upcoming Saturday game against the Colorado Rapids in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Messi has been sidelined since March 13, after participating for 50 minutes in a Champions Cup match against Nashville SC, where he exited due to his hamstring issue. Although he was a potential player for Wednesday’s Champions Cup game against Monterrey, Messi ultimately did not participate, leading to Monterrey’s late victory over Miami with a 2-1 score, clinched by a goal in the 89th minute.

Miami’s coach, Tata Martino, emphasized Messi’s day-to-day status, noting, “He is feeling better each day, and we will re-evaluate for the Colorado game and the return leg against Monterrey next week.” Messi’s absence was felt as he had contributed three goals in his first three matches of the 2024 MLS regular season. His teammate Luis Suarez has stepped up, scoring five goals, including one that resulted in a 1-1 draw with New York City FC last week.

The upcoming match will be the first time the Rapids face Miami since Miami joined the league in 2020. Rapids coach Chris Armas is preparing for various scenarios, stating, “Not sure exactly how they line up…but regardless they’re a really good team and an even better team at home.”

The Rapids have shown improvement over their previous season’s performance, highlighted by a recent 3-2 victory against Los Angeles FC, featuring new signing Djordje Mihailovic’s two crucial late goals.

Injury updates from the Rapids include the absence of forward Jonathan Lewis (knee) and midfielder Jasper Loffelsend (hamstring) for the upcoming game, as confirmed by Armas, with midfielder Connor Ronan (knee) out for an additional month.
