Jack Antonoff, the 40-year-old Bleachers artist and a trusted collaborator of Taylor Swift, took to social media to express his emotions following the release of “The Tortured Poets Department.” Overwhelmed by the moment, he shared his immediate reaction, stating, “Love this album more than i can say …. love you all very much … more later very overwhelmed … love you taylor,” on X (formerly Twitter), right after the album’s midnight release on Friday, April 19. Antonoff highlighted “Fresh Out The Slammer” and “Down Bad” as his favorite tracks from the album.

Antonoff’s professional relationship with Swift dates back to 2013, beginning with their collaboration on “Sweeter Than Fiction.” Since then, they have worked closely on numerous projects, including Swift’s transition into pop with the album 1989.

Apart from their musical collaborations, Antonoff has consistently shown public support for Swift. Recently, he made headlines with his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” where he humorously addressed Kanye “Ye” West, a figure with whom Swift has had a tumultuous history.

Antonoff joked, “If I saw Kanye, I’d go up to him and be like, ‘Your diaper’s so full! We have to change your diaper. Your diaper needs to be changed. It’s a huge problem,'” adding, “The truth is, I’m not that offended. I’m offended, but I’m not that offended. So I don’t like to play this character of overly offended. I prefer to sort of up the trolling.”

In a previous interaction with The Los Angeles Times, Antonoff robustly defended Swift’s songwriting skills, comparing questioning her talent to “challenging someone’s faith in God. You just don’t go there.”

He also critiqued West’s attempts to remain relevant, remarking, “I’m so incredibly bored when someone doesn’t have the sauce anymore, so they go elsewhere to shock. It’s just a remarkable waste of space.” Antonoff candidly admitted, “I’m a little b**ch sometimes. But you come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me.”

This album release marked another high point in Swift’s career, with fans treated to not just one, but a surprise double album titled “The Anthology” shortly after the initial release.
