Bollywoodfever, March 14: Lindsay Lohan experienced an emotional moment when her 7-month-old son, Luai Shammas, watched “The Parent Trap” for the first time. The actress shared this touching story during her visit to “The Drew Barrymore Show” on Thursday.
The 37-year-old star, known for her role in the beloved film, recounted how she was moved to tears seeing her son engaged with the movie, oblivious to the fact that his mother was the actress playing the lead role.
Lohan, who seldom revisits her own movies, told Drew Barrymore about the unique discomfort she feels hearing her voice on screen. However, this instance was different. Coming home from work to find Luai absorbed in “The Parent Trap,” Lohan was overwhelmed with emotion.
“It was such a magical moment. I couldn’t help but start crying,” Lohan said. “He doesn’t realize that’s mommy on screen. I wondered if I should turn it off, but then I noticed he was so focused, possibly recognizing my voice. It was very special, and I captured many photos of the moment.”
In a playful tribute to “The Parent Trap” earlier this month on “The Tonight Show,” Lohan recreated a memorable scene from the movie with host Jimmy Fallon, involving Oreos and peanut butter, a nod to one of the film’s iconic moments.
Lohan, playing both parts as she did in the movie, surprises Fallon with the quirky snack, mirroring a scene where her characters, Hallie Parker and Annie James, discover their shared love for peanut butter on Oreos. This discovery plays a crucial role in the twin sisters realizing their familial bond in the 1998 hit film.
The recreation left Fallon amused and bewildered, highlighting Lohan’s playful homage to her character’s unique tastes.
This nostalgic moment comes as Lohan confirms that a sequel to another one of her fan-favorite comedies is in development, exciting fans with the prospect of seeing her return to one of her classic roles.
