Bollywood Fever: Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball was seen enjoying a sunny vacation in Mykonos with his stunning girlfriend Ally Rossel this week.
Ball, who has been in a relationship with Rossel for roughly four years, is currently enjoying some downtime with his partner as he prepares to make his long-awaited return from a serious knee injury in August.
The couple jetted to Mykonos to soak up the sun during the NBA offseason, with the Bulls’ 2024-25 preseason schedule still over three months away.
On Wednesday, Ball and Rossel were spotted at Solymar beach on the Greek island, laughing and posing for selfies with a group of friends. Rossel, a California-born social-media model with 186,000 Instagram followers, showcased her incredible physique in a skimpy orange bikini while dipping in and out of the sea. At one point, Ball took on photo duty, snapping pictures of Rossel as she cooled off in the water.
The couple first sparked romance rumors in July 2020 before confirming their relationship publicly on Instagram a few months later. Rossel has been a supportive presence at several of Ball’s NBA games, though he hasn’t been in action recently due to a knee problem that has required three surgeries.
Ball first sustained the injury in January 2022 and spent nearly a year identifying the source of his discomfort. He underwent a third operation in March of last year. Currently, he is attempting to become the first professional athlete in US history to return to competition after undergoing meniscus and knee cartilage transplants—surgeries typically considered career-ending.
Despite the challenging recovery, the Bulls hope Ball will be ready to return in approximately two months. “He’s cleared to do pretty much everything on the floor,” said Arturas Karnisovas, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations. “We continue to strengthen him, and in the next two months, we’ll see what he’s going to look like.”
Karnisovas added, “It’s moving along. We don’t know what he’s going to look like in a month or two, so we’re just going to take one step at a time. Hopefully, he’s going to be ready for training camp.”
In October, Ball expressed his determination to return to the court despite the surgeries. “I definitely plan on playing again,” he said during Chicago’s media day. “After surgery three, I feel like it’s going well so far, no setbacks. So for me, it’s just keep my head up, just keep doing the work.”
Ball has faced multiple injuries throughout his career, having topped 60 games (out of 82) in just one of five seasons. He played 35 times in the 2021-22 season—his most recent—after signing a four-year, $80 million deal with the Bulls. Despite his limited appearances, Ball was a significant player for Chicago, averaging 13 points and 5.1 assists in nearly 35 minutes per game, and shooting a career-best 42.3 percent from three-point range before his season was cut short.
