Married Teacher Julie Rizzitello Charged with Sexual Assault of Student in New Jersey
Bollywood Fever: A married teacher in New Jersey, Julie Rizzitello, 36, has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and other related offenses following allegations that she had sexual relations with a student. The charges state that Rizzitello engaged in “various sexual acts” with the student on multiple occasions in at least three different jurisdictions: Belmar, Brick, and Wall.
Rizzitello, who married her husband in 2017, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, three counts of criminal sexual contact, and one count of witness tampering. She resigned from her position at Wall Township High School earlier this week in the wake of these allegations.

Currently, Rizzitello is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution as she awaits a detention hearing. The alleged inappropriate relationship with the student is said to have begun earlier this year, with incidents occurring across multiple townships. She faces charges in both Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Rizzitello had been an English teacher with the Wall Township School District for ten years and also served as an advisor for several clubs in the area. It is not clear whether the victim was a student in her class or a member of one of the clubs she advised. Her profile has since been removed from the school district’s website, though an archived copy was still accessible.
She is expected to face the charges at Monmouth County Superior Court, where a court date has yet to be set.
This incident comes shortly after another New Jersey teacher, Allison Havemann-Niedrach, 43, a special education teacher at Freehold Intermediate School, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a student. Havemann-Niedrach is facing charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree child welfare endangerment.
Havemann-Niedrach’s arrest followed an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Freehold Police Department. She allegedly began sexually abusing a student earlier this year. Although the exact details regarding the number of incidents and the age of the victim is unclear.
Havemann-Niedrach is now facing one count each of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree child welfare endangerment, and was seen smiling in her mugshot.
