Abraham Oseguera, the sibling of the alleged cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera, known as “El Mencho” and head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), has been captured, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced on Monday.
During a morning press briefing, the president disclosed the capture, noting that further information would be released later by the security ministry.
Referred to as Don Rodo, Oseguera was apprehended in Autlan de Navarro, Jalisco by the National Guard on Sunday, as recorded in the official arrest registry of the security ministry.
Oseguera’s brother, El Mencho, is considered the most sought-after criminal in Mexico, leading the CJNG, which is recognized as one of the most dominant criminal organizations in the country, rivaling the Sinaloa Cartel.
