Priscilla Presley Resolves Estate Dispute with Settlement Regarding Lisa Marie Presley’s Will

During a court hearing in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Priscilla Presley’s attorney, Ronson J. Shamoun, announced that a settlement agreement had been reached in the ongoing dispute over the validity of Lisa Marie Presley’s will.

“The parties are pleased to announce the resolution of their dispute,” stated Shamoun to Judge Lynn Scaduto.

The focus of the settlement revolves around the Promenade Trust, which designates Lisa Marie Presley’s eldest daughter, Riley Keough, as the beneficiary of her late mother’s estate. Although the specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed in court, the attorneys representing both parties expressed their intention to file a motion to seal the settlement agreement.

The judge asked for the settlement and the motion to seal to be filed by June 12 and set another hearing in the case for Aug. 4.

“The families are happy,” Shamoun told reporters outside court. “Everyone is happy, unified, together and excited for the future.”

Justin Gold, attorney for Riley Keough, told CNN “she is very content.”

Following the tragic passing of Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, in January, her mother, Priscilla Presley, raised concerns regarding a 2016 amendment to her daughter’s will. The amendment in question removed Priscilla and former business manager Barry Siegel as co-trustees, replacing them with Lisa Marie’s children, Riley and Benjamin Keough. Regrettably, Benjamin Keough passed away in 2020.

In a petition filed in January and obtained by CNN, Priscilla Presley asserted that she had not received the amendment while her daughter was alive, as stipulated by the Trust, and noted that the document contained a misspelling of her name. Furthermore, the petition challenged the authenticity of Lisa Marie Presley’s signature, as the amendment was allegedly not witnessed or notarized.

Meanwhile, the cause of Lisa Marie Presley’s death remains under review by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
